Payment Options

Payment is due at the time of service, and you will always see a written estimate before care begins. We take cash, debit, and major credit cards, and we work with a financing provider for the visits that arrive without warning.

What We Accept

Ways to pay at Revive

Credit cards

Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. The card needs to be signed by the person it belongs to.

Debit cards

Accepted for any amount, subject to whatever daily limit your bank has set.

Cash

Always welcome. We can print an itemised receipt for your records or for an insurance claim.

CareCredit

Third-party financing that spreads the cost of treatment over monthly instalments, subject to their approval.

How Billing Works

No surprises at the end of the visit

We are independently owned, which means we set our own prices and we answer to the people in front of us rather than to a corporate office. Payment is due when services are rendered. We do not carry balances or send invoices afterwards, and keeping it that way is part of how we hold costs down.

Before any procedure or course of care begins, you will get a written estimate, and nothing proceeds until you have agreed to it. If the picture changes partway through — a tooth turns out worse than the radiograph suggested, or bloodwork points somewhere new — we stop and talk it through with you rather than pressing on and telling you afterwards.

If cost is the thing standing between your pet and treatment, say so early. There is almost always more than one reasonable plan, and we would far rather find the one that works for you than have you leave with nothing.

Financing

CareCredit

When an illness arrives without warning, the expense arrives with it. CareCredit is a healthcare credit card that lets you spread the cost of your pet’s treatment over monthly instalments instead of paying it all on the day.

The application takes about five minutes. You can apply here at the hospital — we will call it in over the phone and you will usually have an answer before you leave — or apply yourself online beforehand. It is worth setting up before you need it rather than in the middle of an urgent visit.

What to know

Terms, promotional periods and minimum payments are set by CareCredit and change from time to time. Check the current terms on their site before you apply.

Pet Insurance

Insurance for your pet

Insurance is worth looking at before you need it. Almost every policy excludes conditions your pet already has, so the best time to enrol is while they are young and well. We provide a fully itemised invoice after every visit that you can submit to any provider. We do not bill insurers directly, and we do not receive commission from any of them.

Nationwide

petinsurance.com

Accident, illness and wellness plans from one of the longest-running pet insurers in the United States.

ASPCA Pet Health Insurance

aspcapetinsurance.com

Accident and illness cover, with optional preventive care added on top.

Trupanion

trupanion.com

A single accident-and-illness plan, priced by your pet’s breed, age and location.

Cover, exclusions, waiting periods and reimbursement rates vary a great deal between providers. Read the policy documents before you buy. These three are listed because clients ask about them most often, not as a recommendation.

Questions

Payment questions we hear often

Cash, debit, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Payment is due at the time of service. If you have questions about paying for a particular course of care, raise it early and we will work through the options with you.

We work with a third-party financing provider that lets you spread the cost of care over time, subject to their approval. It is worth setting up before you need it rather than during an urgent visit. Call us on (650) 750-0777 and we will explain how it works.

Not currently. You pay us at the time of service and we give you a fully itemised invoice to submit to your provider, who reimburses you afterwards. Every provider accepts our invoices.

Always, and in writing. Nothing proceeds until you have agreed to it. If there is more than one reasonable path, we will lay out what each one involves and what it costs, so the decision stays yours.

We stop and speak to you. Findings do change once we are looking at radiographs or bloodwork, and when they do you get a revised estimate before we carry on. You should never learn what something cost after it has already happened.

No. We do not carry balances. Keeping every account settled on the day is part of how an independently owned practice keeps its prices where they are.
